Podcast: Mindfulness and Healthcare with Guest Laurie Cameron, SoundPractice
Posted by Laurie J Cameron
What are the essential conditions that create the most optimal outcomes for patients? The state-of-being of their healthcare provider.
From picking up the knife, to picking up the chart, from listening to patients with empathy to communicating difficult news under time pressure to families, it matters what condition the provider is in.
In a recent podcast interview for Physician Leaders, I enjoyed the rich conversation on Mindful Medicine with Mike Sacopulos. Mike is the host of the SoundPractice Podcast - a business podcast for Physicians and Healthcare Professionals. We discussed the benefits mindfulness brings to the heart of the practice. Neurobiology and evidence-based science form the foundation of our conversation, as we consider the mechanisms behind training the mind and body. I shared techniques and insights directed at healthcare leaders, but these are applicable to all of us. I also give tips for anyone wanting to start a mindfulness practice. Thank you for having me, Mike!
